Many Android smartphones will be shut down from Monday due to not being updated. Google says that those phones can not use emergency apps such as YouTube, Drive and Gmail. At the same time will not support the old Android version.
Users of Android smartphones running versions less than Android version 2.3.6 will have this problem. To use Google service, the smartphone must have at least Android version 3.0. However, older version users will be able to access their Gmail account through the browser.
According to Gaul, it is not possible to login to Google Account on Android devices running Android 2.3.8 or lower. The new rules will be effective from September 27. These include Android version 1.0, 1.1, 1.5 cupcakes, 1.6 donuts, 2.0 Eclair, 2.2 Froyo and 2.3 Gingerbread.
For this, Google has requested the users to upgrade their phones. After September 2, users of phones with such versions of Android will see USERNAME OR PASSWORD ERROR when logging in to Google apps such as Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps, etc.
Also, if a user creates a new Google Account on that phone or logs in with a new account or does a factory reset, this error message will show up in each case.
